Vinny’s family is from Southern Italy (mostly Napoli), where Vinny spent most of his summers as a teenager. He was born in Carroll Gardens, and raised in Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Like many Italian-Americans in Brooklyn, a friend of Vinny’s dropped a letter from Vinny’s last name, taking it from “Vincenzo” to “Vincenz.” And that’s how he got Vinny Vincenz.
Vinny has relatives with pizzerias in Carroll Gardens, Bay Ridge, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida. He started working in pizzerias at the age of thirteen and continued to work until the age of twenty-three.
Next, he went on to become a waiter in Manhattan, spending six years in fine dining establishments, including: Gotham Bar & Grill, Osteria del Circo, Windows on the World, Babbo, Le Madri and Patria. After all of these wonderful experiences, he then went on to establish Vinny Vincenz Pizzeria.
Marinated Artichoke Salad—Mixed greens, tomato and shaved parmesan
Eggplant Rollatini—Breaded eggplant with ricotta, mozzarella and tomato sauce
Chicken Roll—Vinny’s take on the pizzeria staple
Sicilian Pizza Marinara—Plum tomato, roasted garlic and basil
Fresh Lobster Ravioli Fra Diavolo—Lobster ravioli in a spicy tomato sauce
Chicken Piccata—Chicken served in lemon and capers sauce with spaghetti and vegetables
One of the best pizza places in this area. I've ordered from them a few times and it's consistently good.

Food is really delicious, although it - along with the delivery service - can be inconsistent. Two out of my most recent three orders have taken over an hour to arrive. Recommendations include the spinach fettucine, veal and chicken parm, pizza and penne alla vodka.

I didn't really like the seasoning in the bread crumbs with which the chicken parmigiana was coated. Ratio of pasta to entree was too much pasta, too little chicken.

Always high quality ingredients. A little expensive, but worth it!

Ordered the Meatball Parm. Above average, not great. Was hoping it would be a lot better than Brunos' down the street (also above average, not great), but it was just different. Meatballs were sliced & tasty, nice. Roll hardly toasted & smallish, weak. 45 mins to deliver.

When every we have a late night pizza craving we get Vinny's. They have a really yummy sauce with fresh basil laced thruout. There crust if like wonderful fresh bread with a cruncy bottom that stands up to your toppings.

I used to live pretty much across the street from this place and would get the penne bolognese for takeout all the time- it was huge and filling and the sauce was really good. Came with a good piece of bread on the side as well. If you get there for takeout and your food isn't ready yet, they'll sometimes hook you up with a little cup of beer from the tap for a buck to enjoy while you wait. The people who work there are super nice too- much better than the typical fast-food style italian restaurant staff. This place is solid all around- very underrated for good, cheap italian.
