Rue 57 combines the very best of a French Bistro and a Japanese Sushi Bar, representing the melding of the modern urban palette. As part of the New York dining scene for the past nine years, Rue 57 has established itself as a destination for the cosmopolitan New Yorker looking for a fun nightlife experience, an elegant brunch, a sophisticated business event or an upscale solution to the pre-theatre quandary.
French-style dishes like apple crepes or the sumptuous meatloaf and hangover breakfast are offered at brunch at Rue 57. For pre-theatre diners, Rue 57 offers a casual, comfortable menu with a wide variety of Eastern and Western-influenced dishes. For the nightlife, come and sip a glass of champagne and try the Chef’s offerings of sushi and sashimi. Whichever occasion you prefer, you will always find unique and enjoyable dishes at Rue 57.
Rue 57 Chopped Tuna Salad—Served with lentils, beets, white beans, haricot vert, asparagus and balsamic vinaigrette
Cuban Sandwich on Soft Brioche—Roast pork with garlic, cured ham, Swiss cheese, dill pickle, mustard, brioche torpedo roll and deep fried plantains with spicy mayonnaise.
Classic Steak Frites
Rue 57 Grilled Sirloin Burger— Served with Roquefort and pomme frites
Flight of Tokyo—Tuna, yellowtail, bonito, wasabi-tobiko, with ginger ponzu and enoki dipping sauce
Yokohama Roll—Tuna, yellowtail, jalapeno and crispy onion ring; served with spicy sauce
Rue 57 is part of the Restaurant Group, which includes Tao Asian Bistro (New York and Las Vegas), Avra Estiatorio (New York) and Lavo Restaurant and Night Club (Las Vegas). Rue 57 is a good-standing member of the New York Restaurant Association, and is involved with numerous charitable organizations throughout New York City. These organizations are among those that host their fundraising dinners at Rue 57.
Rue 57’s private room, the Salon, is an excellent setting for private parties and corporate events. Set on the lower level of the restaurant, the Salon is furnished with inviting banquettes, mahogany woodwork in exotic stone, upholstered sofas, original French artwork, and its own spectacular bar. The special events team will allow your special occasion, whether personal or professional in nature, to become the most gracious event you and your guests have attended in years.
I kind of don't understand why this place has no reviews, since it's been on the list for a while. I order from here when I feel like dropping a few bucks more than usual. Most things are very good. The burger with the crumbly cheese is very good. The steak frittes is good as well. Actually, everything here is usually very good. Be sure to check out the specials, I once got a fried chicken special which was delicious. Food arrives not early, but not late, and still hot, but I'm only three blocks away.
