Renowned sushi chef Eiji “Taka” Takase, former Executive Chef of Sushi Samba and Shibuya at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, reinforces his merit by expertly fashioning each Omido dish with the same attention to detail that brought his earlier establishments such success. A refreshing alternative to the bistros of the Theater District, Omido’s smart, modern design liberates Eastern philosophy and serves it back to you with precision, grace and cutting-edge style.

Design mavericks AvroKo have created another striking stop on the map of Manhattan’s must-see dining destinations as they have reinterpreted the simplicity and serenity found in Japanese temples and homes into a progressive and stylish social playground. Warm bamboo walls and Edison bulbs guide visitors’ eyes to a large, wooden sushi bar anchored like a shrine in the center of the main dining room, where Chef Taka presides as the master of Omido’s culinary stage. With a nod to Japanese tradition, the restaurant’s private alcove is equally dressed to impress, housing a ceiling strung with ten thousand authentic Omikuji fortunes imported from Japan to bring good luck to the premises in a sharp new way. Think fortune cookies for the jet set. The menu takes a similar spin on the classics, bringing together fresh produce and handpicked meat and fish with a selection of enticing seasonal Japanese cocktails, fifteen sakes by the glass and exotic beer options.
Escape the clamor of midtown and let Omido guide you to new cultural terrains. Named after a Shinto temple, Omido elevates your dining experience with a touch of Eastern Influence, fusing the energy of earth and sea with a dash of good luck. Simple, high quality food is the focus as a seamless combination of flavors and modest, yet artful execution leads to a number of Omido signature items.
Pastry Chef Akiko Kimura (Yujin, Vera), complements Chef Taka’s creations with a tantalizing blend of colorful desserts. Top off your meal with Omido’s festive beverage menu, which amplifies any meal with a wide range of sake, beer and an original drink list including standout cocktails.
Whether searching for an after-work indulgence or an upscale dining experience within your means, Omido is your alternative to standard cuisine.

The delivery person arrived at my building and made no effort to call the phone number listed on the order, so he returned to the restaurant. Only when i called the restaurant was i told that the delivery person hadn't made an effort to reach me, nor had the restaurant, which claimed not to have my phone number. Unacceptable.
