Kitchenette puts all other restaurant that claim to serve “Mom’s Cooking” to shame. Reminiscent of Bee’s Kitchen from the Andy Griffith show, this cozy spot harkens back to flavors of a time gone with its outstanding comfort food.

Opened 12 years ago in a tiny 11 stool luncheonette, this Tribeca institution quickly outgrew its space and moved into a new larger location down the street. Through it all, Kitchenette has managed to maintain its charm, thanks mostly to the attention to detail of owners Ann Nickinson and Lisa Hall. Their vision of “country in the city” includes notoriously sinful baked goods, breakfast favorites, and everything else that reminds you of why it’s so delicious to go home. Discover the magic of Kitchenette, and you’ll start looking forward to meals at the office like you anticipate Thanksgiving dinner.

Turkey Meatloaf—An all time favorite, served with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy
Lemon Parmesan Chicken Breast—A Kitchenette classic with a light crispy crust
Honey Fried Chicken—Sweet and savory
Spicy Catfish Sandwich—With avocado tartar sauce
Baked Four Cheese Macaroni—Cheesy and delicious, made with Kitchenette’s secret weapon smoked mozzarella
Cobb Salad—Spicy chicken, crumbled bleu cheese, tomato, celery, and avocado with bacon buttermilk dressing
Honey Fried Chicken—Marinated in buttermilk and honey with your choice of two sides
Kitchenette Special—Two eggs, bacon, and cheese on a homemade buttermilk biscuit
Lumber Jack—Two eggs, fruited four-grain pancakes, and a choice of homemade turkey
Food is awful. They serve it any which way they want. Ordered a Cobb Salad and got what was essentially a mixed side salad which chicken and blue cheese. When I complained that what they called a Cobb Salad was in fact not one all they said was "That is how we do it." Was not offered an exchange or refund for what was an awful and overpriced salad.

I was just getting ready to order the chicken and see they raised their prices! Prices that were already too high. Now, no sides included with dinner? Are you kidding? You've had your last order from me.

No cilantro, no lime, no chilli, generic mayo. Bread was good I guess.

The food tasted fine, but not good enough to justify the high price to small portion equation.

Solid.

Not worth it. Ordered a biscuit and it tasted 3 days old, cupcake tasted old and was soggy! Potatoes were not good. Way too over priced - I can't believe I spent $18 for this stuff.

If you are not in a hurry to get your food, and have hours to sit around and wait, this is a good place to dump your money into.

The food is always good, as good as comfort food can be but who are they kidding with the prices and the portion sizes!! Its a joke. I certainly dont mind paying a lot for upscale cuisine, but this is more along the lines of Popeyes

In 2008 I ordered frequently from Kitchenette. However I stopped after ordering from them late December and getting horrible service when I called to enquire where my order was after I'd been waiting for close to an hour. Anyway, in April 09 I decided to give them another try and I'm sad to say, but I will never order from them again. I ordered onion rings which turned out to be the oiliest things I have ever seen come out of a kitchen. The grilled chicken was undercooked and the vegetables were overcooked. Overall, overpriced mediocre food, with poor service. Never again.

unless and until I see the words "under new management" or "new chef" I won't bother with this crappy excuse for a cafe that smells bad when you go there and tastes bad whether its delivery or eat-in.

the desserts are highly reccommended so i tried the trifle and the chocolate cupcakes with vanilla filling,, the trifle was horrible,, and old,, nothing more to say abt it,, not refreshing at all,, and pieces of strawberry through and the custard as frozen taste,, it was horrible,, now for the cupcakes ,, nothing to die for,, it was ok,, chocolate cake part ws gud,,i think the vanilla filing had not much flavor,, but for 2.25 for small cupcake,, its should be betta,, the trifle is waste of ur time dont try ,, i had it delivered to office,, and it came very quickly ,, so that is one plus,, maybe i tried the wrong desserts from there long dessert menu ,, i mite give it a benfit of doubt ,

I have ordered a Mac & Cheese Dinner ($11). They send a portion that was more suitable to be a side dish. The food was OK but not for $11 for a tiny little mac and cheese dinner.

turkey burger dry and gross. skip it./

the ingredients were of high quality, but the finished product was below average. the burger was over salted, and the fries (actually roasted potato wedges) looked delicious but were inedible. charred on the outside and undercooked on the inside. it had the raw potato taste that very few people find pleasant.

got the lumberjack breakfast. pancakes tasted like they were from a box. turkey sausage as dry and tasteless and in the shape of meatballs?!

Sometimes the food is good, however today, the food was awful. Mcdonalds would have been a much better better choice for a third of the cost.

I've only tried their Fish & Chips so far and was very dissappointed. The fish was salty.....and they were very cheap with the french fries considering i'm paying 10 dollars for a single piece of fish meal.
