There is a good reason for why when Garth Brooks wants pizza, he calls Don Giovanni Ristorante, and it starts with a thin crisp crust that is perfectly charred in a custom-made brick oven. Straight from the heart of Palermo, Sicily, Don Giovanni’s pies are topped with everything from clams to fried eggs, artichokes, bacon, olives and goat cheese, and are delectable and innovative, whether enjoyed en route to the theater at their Hell’s Kitchen location, or on the patio at the Chelsea restaurant.

Reasonable prices and generous portions of salads and appetizers, in addition to the fresh pastas and calzones, have gotten the attention of New York’s fashion, media, and financial elite, but celebrity endorsements have not caused Don Giovanni’s to now rely on designer ingredients like other pricey Italian eateries, nor has it lost the relaxed vibe, reasonable prices and charm that its neighborhood regulars have come to know and love. With its open hearth kitchen and wafting aromas of oregano and garlic, you will feel you have wandered into a Tuscan village. For pizza (and everything else) that’s “out of this world,” look no further than Don Giovanni Ristorante.

Food decent but poor customer service. The delivery person failed to arrive with the entire order. I called them up and they told me another person was coming with the remainder of the food. That delivery person never showed up before the place closed for the evening. The next day, I called to get the portion of the meal refunded that never arrived and the person handling the refund was largely unprofessional about it. I have yet to get the money back.

Delivery wasn't the fastest but the food was truly delicious. We had the lasagna and a pasta dish and I will definitely order from this place again. Really great food.

Fast delivery and great gourmet pizza. Anything besides pizza can be hit-or-miss with the exception of the lobster ravioli which is very tasty.

The quality was mediocre, but portions are enormous, especially with pasta. Certainly no need to order extra meatballs etc.

Excellent Italian food. Good sauces and great flavors.

Pizza is really good but the other dishes can be hit or miss. I ordered the polenta appetizer and it's good it comes with sauteed garlic spinach because the polenta was tasteless! I haven't had a late delivery yet, they are usually right on or before the allotted time, although from some of the reviews on here that's not the case. You can't go wrong with the pizza, you're taking a chance with anything else.

Took 1 hr 30 min to get food when estimated delivery time was 35 min to 50 min. We called an hour and were told the food would be here in another 5 min. It took another 30 min after that after multiple calls. They are only 2 blooks from our apartment and the food arrived cold.

The Pizza was very nice. Smaller than the size of your chain pizza restaurants. It was gourmet style, something you would find at a nice Soho restaurant when you dine in. The spaghetti bolognase was a little tasteless but not terrible.

The food would have been much better if it had arrived warm and not all over the bag. The pizza was like it had been in the fridge overnight and the chicken marsala was all over the bag it came in. Not sure if I'll be trying this one again.

A favorite eat-in local restaurant performs equally well for home delivery. Same generous portions, food was hot and smartly packaged, and delivered quickly. I had a special request which was followed.

Chicken Parm is a single 1/8" piece of chicken in a massive hero with a thimble of sauce and 1oz of mozzarella. If you're carbo-loading for a marathon, this is your sandwhich. If you want to taste chicken, sauce, or cheese, try somewhere else... Delivery included 3 out of 6 items.

Pretty disappointing.... food arrived in a timely fashion and price was fine, but honestly, the food wasn't all that good. Pizzas were mediocre and pasta dishes were downright bad. Appetizers were ok. No huge complaints, but with all the other choices out there, just not worth it.

food is not fresh and delivery is longer than estimated time

Clearly the service part has drastically improved. Got the food within 30 minutes and provided in a very polite manner.

Extremely rude & disrespectful delivery person. on his cell phone when I went to lobby to pick up order; I didn't realize he was the delivery person, as he didn't have the courtesy to interrupt his cell phone conversation & ask me if I was waiting for a food order (even though he saw me standing in the lobby, obviously looking for someone). And there was no food delivery in sight; otherwise, I would have approached him. (He had placed my food order inside a PLANTER he was leaning against while talking on the phone.) When I returned to the lobby after he called my office a second time, he said "I've been waiting here a long time." I told him that he saw me looking around the lobby and then looking outside - why didn't he have the courtesy to interupt his phone conversation to ask if I was waiting for a food delivery? He then responded in a very rude & sarcastic voice, "Boss" and "Enjoy your food."

The veal cutlet was tough, the pasta was very overcooked and the sauce was very salty.

Great carrot cake. Pretty good lasagna, penne ala vodka and chicken parm. As you may have noticed, have used this vendor quite a bit.

Food is ok if you feel like waiting 2 hours for it (ordered 3 times and all three times were past the hour and half threshold, beware!)
