OMG!!! This place is fantastic!!! I haven't had indian food this good in a loonnnnngggg time!!! I would give my overall meal a 10 but can't quite give it that just because it's really really spicy and will have to make mention next time not too put too much spice but if it wasn't for that this place would get a perfect 10 on my scale!! Definitely worth the money!!

Food is very good, clean...well cooked. Delivery is on the slow side, but worth the wait. Highly recommended. I may try going to the restaurant to eat indoors instead of delivery.. lol. Good Job Darbar!!

Darbar is by far the best Indian food in the city. My boss is Indian and we order from this restaurant all the time. Everything is devine - try the Mango Lassi too - its a creamy smooth cool treat that I adore especially with the spices in the food. The people are extremely nice and my order is perfect every single time (NOT the case with lots of other seamless web restaurants). And my favorite part is that the price is reasonable - and the portions are big. Great value. Great food. Great people. I cannot say enough about this restaurant.

Food was tasty but the meat lunch box let me down- meat portion size was too small. Contained 4 pieces of meat of which 3 were pretty much just bone.

My order was delivered without all the food. The rest was decent and the portion size was great, but without naan, how good can indian really be?

Food was not bad. The naan is on the thin side and the masla was runny but both had good taste.

I'm picky about Indian food, and Darbar is my favorite Indian restaurant in midtown east. The chicken and lamb-based dishes are the best options on the menu - my favorites are the Lamb Palak, Chicken Kali Mirch, Chicken Tikka (not CT Masala) and Chili Chicken. I haven't had great luck with their seafood, so I don't recommend that. If you like sweet naan (lots of coconut and dried cherries) the Darbar Special Naan is awesome. In general, the dishes have balanced and complex spices. The gravies / sauces are thick, rich, and not too oily. (I hate nothing more than thin, watery, one-note Indian curries.) It's definitely not cheap, but the quality is higher than the less expensive restaurants in midtown and at least on par with the high end places. If you are looking for cheap, great street food, though, this isn't the place to get it. This is sit-down restaurant North Indian food.

The food was not great, okay, but delivered cold and (for the second time) they forgot the bread. I think it was overrated by others.

Excellent food. One of the best I've had in the city.

Delivery was as expected, and food was good. Chicken Tikka Masala had the right amount of spice, and the Saag Paneer was rich and yummy. Naan has been cold, but not sure they can get around that.

amazing indian food and really inexpensive for everything that you get! definitely recommend if you're a huge indian food person. we've tried many indian restaurants in the city and this one is great!

Food was over 40 minutes late. When it finally arrived, part of my order was missing. The food itself wasn't bad. The chicken saagwala was much spicier than at other restaurants. An order of naan consists of only 1 piece--a bit pricey for not much bread! Rasmalai dessert was better than most.

Slower than indicated delivery time

Try the beetroot malai kofta for a distinctive taste. There's nothing quite like it in any other Indian restaurant in New York.

Excellent, consistent quality with subtler spicing than average Indian restaurant.

Estimated delivery time said 40-55 minutes. It took them a little over an hour and half to deliver. Food was decent. I could taste the flour and ground grains they use to make the gravy thicker in Paneer Pasanda. It was not at all delightful. However, Chicken Hyderabadi Korma was much better in comparison. From the delivery time it took and with the unflavorable entree taste, I would not order from here again.

Very tasty food. Was more food than it appeared to be at first glance. The daal was excellent and the chicken meat was not fatty.
