If I could give it zero stars I would. I got the spicy sushi roll combo. All 3 types of rolls smelled bad and tasted like they had either been kept at too warm of a temperature or prepared on a dirty counter. it was so bad I had to spit it out and throw it out. I can't believe this place hasn't been closed by the health department.

I ordered the three roll lunch special. The alaskan roll and lobster roll were just ok. The tuna roll was awful, I literally threw it out after having one piece. Tuna tasted bad. Delivery was timely but I wouldnt order from here again.. there are much better sushi places which offer the same or less expensive lunch specials.

If you're looking for quick, easy, courteous service and fresh fish at reasonable prices, then this is a brilliant choice. We had the sashimi dinner and a spicy salmon roll that were delish, but nothing out of this world.

Easily the worst japanese / sushi that I have ever tried. The nigiri were flavorless (salmon, uni, yellowtail), masago smelled so bad that one of rolls was inedible. They also tried to pass off spinach linguini as soba noodles. Avoid this place at all cost.

ordered sushi late. opened container and had a terribly fishy smell. The tuna was literally brown and crab was disgusting. i am not one to get grossed out but I had to wrap it up and throw it out before i vomited. NOT FRESH FISH!

Gross. Ordered the 3 roll special. one was a spicy tuna roll - the tuna had gone bad and was completely inedible. one was a salmon cucumber roll and was fine (nothing great) and one was a yellowtail scallion roll which i found a pretty long bone in. absolutely disgusting - will never order from here again.

We ordered a miso soup and 4 maki rolls: salmon avocado (which was the tastiest), spicy tuna (it was fine), spider roll and shrimp tempura roll. The spider roll and shrimp tempura roll tasted EXACTLY the same. There was no fancy sauce or distinguishable flavor to either of them. The crab was dry and flavorless. Also, the rolls came with only 5 pieces instead of 6, which I thought was annoying. FINALLY, we ordered green tea mochi ice cream. I have to say, the mochi ice cream from TRADER JOES was better than this! However, service was fast and polite. My only gripe is that this restaurant is yet another mediocre Japanese place in midtown. Ho Hum.

Aki Sushi West -- SO gross and not worth your time and/or money! What a complete waste of $50! Aside from being a little pricer than other sushi places that are 10 times better, this food tasted as though it'd been sitting out and was not fresh; something you don't want to think about when you're eating raw fish! The sushi had no flavor and left horrible extremely fishy after tastes in our mouths. We are sushi fans and are always willing to try a new place, but even if the food was free, we would rather starve.

Awful experience. There were bones in the sushi, and everything was of a notably bad quality. I had to spit a few pieces out because it was so bad and tasted very "off", until I finally gave up and threw the rest out. As far as I'm concerned, if a sushi place gives that type of low quality food even once, I will never trust it again.

this is not be place to go if you're a picky eater. but if you're willing to be adventurous i would absolutely recommend trying aki sushi west at least once. it may be pricy. but it is worth the splurge!!

let me start by saying I am normally not the type to write reviews. positive things first, delivery time was good as was the pork gyoza. Both rolls i ordered were down right disgusting. I threw everything that was uncooked away b/c it tasted so fishy. I would not recommend anyone order rolls from here. Maybe their cooked entrees are good but stay away from the sushi...

This place is not good for delivery to office buildings. When they are 10 minutes away, they call and tell you they are there, so you go down to get the food and end up having to wait. If my time were that free, I would just go out for lunch and skip the ordering in!

Terrible sushi (tasted like it had been defrosted). This place certainly isn't Zagat-rated as the self-description on Seamless claims it to be - if anything it's riding on the name of its more reputable cousin Aki Sushi on the Upper East Side.

this place is horrible. both rolls tasted funny, had little to no taste, and they skimp you on the filling for all rolls. i ordered the pyramid roll and it basically had nothing on the inside except for crunch. i paid $1 extra for mango on the inside and they either forgot to put it, or put so little that I couldn't even taste it. the fish had a funny taste and was salty. DO NOT order from here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The presentation is nice, the delivery was quick, the order was correct, and portions are nice. The spicy rolls are not spicy at all, in fact they lack flavour and are a strange consistency. I used to be a sushi chef and would say its not bad but not great.

It had excellent flavor and the chicken was good and tender......I did ask for the sauce to be put on the side but that request was missed so it came swimming in sauce and there were tons of these onion like things.....They didnt seem to belong there and I hate onions so I picked at the food. If something like that has onions you should be advised on the menu

AWFUL! I ordered yellowtail and salmon and as soon as I took off the plastic top it smelled fishy. I took a bite of the yellowtail and it was slimy and tasted like the fish had been sitting out all day. The salmon was squishy and after just 20 minutes of taking two pieces I feel extremely nauseas.

love this place, the sashimi is always fresh-some of the best salmon sashimi i've ever had. my favorites are also the scallop and ikura.sashimi. the sushi is great as well. obviously the raw fish is of the same quality as sashimi. but it actully sticks to the rice so that you can dip it properly instead of falling apart instantly(as long as aki sushi west makes it) i 'll come back again and again.

The udon soup was extremely disappointing. It tastes just like wonton soup, but with udon in it. This soup is about as Japanese as the Berlin Wall. I am only eating it because I spent $8, not because it tastes good. The yellowtail sushi and salad were decent.

SERIOUSLY? this was some of the CRAPPIEST sushi I have ever had. worse than the gross grocery store kind. my order got to my apartment in TWELVE minutes after ordering it on seamless web and I live six blocks from the restaurant, including two avenues. it tasted old and super fishy and was just absolutely disgusting. The sushi I ordered was TERRIBLE. It was a crunch combo and the fish in each was mushy and had an unusual "fishy" taste, which is a sign of BAD seafood (not fresh). If I wouldn't have thrown it out, I think I would have definitely been sick the next day.

Extremely mediocre. Even basic cooked dishes (such as the salmon skin salad & the oshitashi) turned out poorly. Even the miso soup was terrible. However, considering the cooked food was so terrible, the fish quality was surprisingly decent. If you're ordering from here, stick to basic sushi, sashimi, or chirashi.

One roll I ordered was fine. The other tasted like dirt. Not saying that it was really awful but that it really very honestly tasted like the rice had been cooked in dirt broth. Something is very fishy about this because another review said the same thing. Time to clean the rice cooker or something?
