The very definition of an elegant European Oriental restaurant, Au Mandarin is part of a larger consortium that includes branches on Paris’ Champs Elysees and in Frankfurt, along with the eminent Tse Yang at Fifty-first Street in Manhattan. Tucked away in the courtyard of the World Financial Center in the heart of Battery Park City is a place where Europe and Asia harmoniously unite.

Au Mandarin provides two distinct dining environments with a serenity that is seldom found in New York. The less formal seating area, completed with cool marble floors and post-modern décor, rests below an open skylit ceiling. In contrast, the main dining room is surrounded by traditional carved lacquered wood, silk cushions and wall panels finished in silk brocade, transporting you to an elaborate and exquisitely traditional China. Each environment, however, feature the same finely prepared food and world-class service, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy your meal.
For those unable to make it to the restaurant, Au Mandarin provides speedy delivery service for individuals and excellent catering options for larger parties.

Order from them and it took over and hour. The food was good but arrived cold. The hot sauce spilled all inside the bag and everything was a mess. The delivery was not handled with care.

TERRIBLE FOOD! How this place has a 5 star rating is truly beyond me. The vote has got to be rigged.

Not all that. Spring roll was BURNED and inedible. Duck was tasty, though.

I have order from them twice and both times the chicken tasted spoiled.

Worst Chinese food I have had. Chicken was hard with little sauce.

Do not order from this place if you are expecting real Chinese food. The food is bland and tasteless. Everything is cut into huge chunks and thrown together in a careless way. I suspect they are using MSG since I couldn't stop drinking water after the meal the the following day my face was swollen. The portions were huge, but unfortunately most of it was wasted since it was too gross to stomach.

This place was gross. I hate throwing food out and I had to do it. Their "shrimp" tasted like it was a few days old. I can't believe they have 4 stars...

food usually comes in a decent amount of time. the fried rice wasn't what i expected, it was alright though. the bean curd homestyle is good i always ask for it extra spicy. they've never messed up an order and are pretty accommodating with substituting ingredients.

high quality chinese

Excellent food in perfect condition, fast delivery. The fried rice was light and fluffy; the egg drop and velvet corn soups were generous, steaming, and perfectly seasoned. Tender beef with crisp baby snow peas. Highly recommended.

There delivery time says 25 to 40 minutes; but they're always more than an hour.

Very good, but a bit too small of a portion for the price. Ginger shrimp was phenomenal however.

Food was pretty nasty. I ordered house fried rice, shrimp dumplings and vegetable dumplings. The veggie dumplings were the only edible portion of th meal. Shrimp dumplings tasted like cardboard and were stuck to the bottom of the container, which still had water in it. Nice. House fried rice had a virtual medley of unidentifiable meat in it (which they do not mention online - and I don't eat meat.) including that nasty pink pork looking stuff. Also nice. All in all, my $30 dinner ended up being the so-so vegetable dumplings. A shame, i had heard nice things about this place.

Some of the best Chinese in the downtown area! Half of the associates on Wall Street survive on Au Mandrin every night of the week. (The other half try to get it only 2 or 3 times a week.) Great food. Good price. Fast service.

Great place... but why no egg rolls? Every chinese resturant has egg rolls...

When placing my order I gave a specific request for fried rice for my General Tso's Chicken. They called me and asked if I ment brown rice, I said I wanted fried rice. When the food arrived I opened package, They had given me BBQ chicken and brown rice. I called to explain the issue, I spoke to no less than three people and was finally told that, what I had gotten was General Tso's Chicken because it was battered and fried, and that he had been serving it all day not to mention 23 years. He further said that if he replaced it (not that he offered) it would be the same. So, I was stuck with the BBQ chicken and brown rice. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN.

We ordered "Spicy & Tangy Scallops" and "Spicy &Tangy Shrimps" for lunch. One dish had 4 shrimp and the second dish barely had enough scallops. Each dish was filled with large peppers & was approx $16.00. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Rival's any sit-down meal in the fancier restaurants. So good that even people in Jersey City have started placing orders to have delivered across the river!
